Everything You Need to Know About Isana®

What is Isana® all about?

Isana® is a homegrown brand that celebrates sustainable living through handcrafted decor and accessories. From bamboo lampshades to jute totes, every piece reflects timeless artistry and eco-conscious design — made with love by skilled Indian artisans

Woven with Purpose. Crafted with Soul.

At Isana®, we believe that every object in your home should carry a story — one of skilled hands, living traditions, and a deep respect for the earth. We are an artisan-led, eco-conscious brand rooted in the heart of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, bringing you handcrafted products that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.

Our Origin Story

Isana® was born from a simple but powerful conviction: that the ancient craft traditions of India deserve a place in the modern world. In a time of mass production and disposable goods, we chose a different path — one that honours the slow, intentional art of handweaving and celebrates the communities who have kept it alive for centuries.

Our journey began in the villages and highlands of India, where we discovered extraordinary artisans — many of them women — whose skill and dedication had been passed down through generations. We knew their work deserved to be seen, valued, and shared with the world.

Our Mission

We exist to bridge the gap between conscious consumers and the gifted artisans of rural India. Every Isana® product is a collaboration — between tradition and contemporary design, between nature and human ingenuity, between you and the hands that made it.

Our mission is threefold:

  • To preserve and celebrate centuries-old weaving traditions
  • To empower rural artisans, especially women, with fair livelihoods
  • To offer sustainable alternatives to mass-produced, synthetic goods

The Materials We Choose

We are deeply intentional about what goes into every product. All Isana® pieces are crafted from 100% natural, biodegradable materials sourced responsibly from across India:

  • Kauna Grass — harvested from the wetlands of Manipur, this resilient grass has been woven by Meitei women for generations
  • Sabai Grass — gathered from the highlands, known for its strength and natural lustre
  • Bamboo & Rattan — fast-growing, renewable, and endlessly versatile
  • Cane & Jute — time-honoured natural fibres with minimal environmental footprint
  • Kashmiri Willow — sustainably harvested from the valleys of Kashmir, lending a refined elegance to our wicker pieces

None of our materials are synthetic. None are harmful to the earth. Every fibre returns to nature as it came.

Artisan-Led. Always.

Behind every Isana® product is a master artisan — someone who has spent years, often decades, perfecting their craft. We work directly with weaving communities across India, ensuring that the people who create our products are fairly compensated, respected, and celebrated.

Our artisan partnerships are not transactional. They are relationships built on trust, mutual respect, and a shared belief that handcraft is worth protecting. When you choose Isana®, you are choosing to invest in these communities — supporting livelihoods, sustaining traditions, and keeping ancient skills alive for future generations.

The Slow, Handcrafted Process

In a world that demands instant gratification, we embrace slowness. Every Isana® product is made to order, crafted with care and attention that simply cannot be rushed. Our standard processing time is 3–5 days — not because we are slow, but because we refuse to compromise on quality or the wellbeing of our artisans.

No two pieces are exactly alike. The slight variations in weave, texture, and tone are not imperfections — they are the fingerprints of the human hands that made them. They are what make your piece truly one of a kind.

Your Purchase, Their Future

Every time you bring an Isana® product into your home, you are part of something larger than a transaction. You are:

  • Supporting the income of rural artisan families
  • Helping preserve weaving traditions that might otherwise disappear
  • Choosing biodegradable materials over plastic and synthetic alternatives
  • Reducing demand for mass-produced, environmentally harmful goods
  • Investing in slow fashion and conscious living

We believe that beautiful things should do good in the world. And we believe that you do too.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability is not a marketing strategy for us — it is the foundation of everything we do. From the materials we source to the communities we work with, every decision at Isana® is made with the planet and its people in mind.

We are proud to be a brand that leaves a lighter footprint: no synthetic dyes, no plastic packaging, no fast-fashion shortcuts. Just honest, natural, handcrafted goods made the way they always should be.

A Registered Mark of Trust

Isana® is a registered trademark, a symbol of our commitment to authenticity and quality. When you see the Isana® mark, you can trust that what you are receiving is genuinely handcrafted, ethically sourced, and made with integrity.

We are based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India — a city with a rich heritage of craft and artisanship, and the perfect home for a brand that lives and breathes handmade culture.

Join the Movement

Choosing Isana® is choosing a different way of living — one that values quality over quantity, story over status, and people over profit.
