The Story of Isana®

ISANA® began not just as a brand, but as a heartfelt journey.

Founded by a filmmaker with roots deeply entwined in Northeast India, ISANA® was born from stories—stories of hands that weave, lands that nurture, and traditions that deserve to thrive.

While travelling and working on films across remote villages of the Northeast, our founder was captivated by the quiet magic of craftsmanship: bamboo being split with precision, cane bending to the rhythm of ancestral memory, and women weaving jute and kauna grass with strength and serenity.

These were not merely crafts—they were cultural identities.

And they deserved to be shared with the world.

From this connection emerged ISANA®, a conscious home and lifestyle brand that brings together traditional Indian craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Our products are thoughtfully handcrafted by skilled artisans across Northeast India, using traditional techniques and natural materials such as Rattan, Bamboo, Water hyacinth, Willow, Kauna grass, Jute and Sitalpati.

From a handwoven lampshade bringing warmth to a cafe in Berlin to a jute tote adding character to everyday life in Mumbai, every ISANA® piece carries something of the hands that made it and the land that inspired it.
